The Caravanettes are a Macclesfield based ladies choir. Founded in 2006 after a group of ladies on holiday realised they had a shared love of singing, but didn’t feel that the kind of choir they wanted to be part of existed at that time. Something less formal was needed, where a daunting audition wasn’t necessary, where everyone felt welcome whatever their ability, and where the focus was on having fun whilst we sing.
Initially the choir was made up of just 5 members, who met in a mobile caravan on the side of the Macclesfield Canal – hence The Caravanettes!
Toby Hinson took over as choir master in 2008, and under his leadership the choir has gone from strength to strength, with over 30 active members meeting weekly to sing.
We enjoy performing at events such as The Treacle Market, Barnaby Festival Lytham St.Annes Festival Of Choirs and for local clubs and charities, always trying to maintain a relaxed and fun style.
